Dr. Sandy Johnson
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Sandy Scaffetta Johnson leads the company in education applications, new technology insertions, and research efforts. Dr. Johnson served in Common and Higher Education for 25 years. She presents nationally and internationally and has published in state and national journals on Mathematics Education and Technologies in Education. Dr. Johnson retired from the University of Oklahoma in 2003 when she joined Anautics as the CEO. Dr. Johnson oversees the completion of projects concerning research, technology insertion, and reverse engineering for the Oklahoma City Air Logistic Center (OC-ALC).
Dr. Johnson is committed to integrating new technologies into the operational and training environments. She is responsible for insuring that the projects meet tasks outlined in the Statements of Work in a timely and efficient fashion. As CEO, Dr. Johnson deals effectively with human, financial, environmental and technical issues respective to the company. She also drives new initiatives to ensure the sustainment, growth, and improved customer satisfaction.
Dr. Johnson has served for two years as an Honorary Commander for the 552d Air Control Wing at Tinker AFB. This is one of the most cherished activities in which she is involved. She is also a member of the Technology Committee on the State Chamber of Commerce, the Education and Workforce Committee for the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, a Commissioner for the Oklahoma Commission for Teacher Preparation, a member of Oklahoma City Rotary 29, a member of the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce, and has served on the Education Committee for the Oklahoma Business and Education Coalition. She is a member of the Mathematical Association of America and is recognized for achievement by Cambridge Who's Who Registry of Executives and Professionals. In 2009, Dr. Johnson was honored by the Journal Record as one of the 50 Making a Difference: Woman of the Year award.

Conducting research on adult learners for the Oklahoma City Public Schools and for the Oklahoma Business and Education Coalition, Dr. Johnson published two reports on Skills Gaps observed in teachers and in pre-service teachers. She served on the Advisory Committee for Performance Pay for Teachers for the Oklahoma Speaker of the House and conducted research on First Year Teacher Programs for State Representative Ann Coody. She has nine publications and has presented 25 research and professional development activities locally, statewide, nationally and internationally. While at the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Johnson presented research findings in Austria and in England. She presented a paper on the findings of our research at the Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) where she discussed technology developed by Anautics in our Pattern Recognition for Aircraft Maintainer. She has also presented for the Mathematical Association of America on Small Business Innovative Research opportunities for collaboration of business and Higher Education researchers.
Dr. Johnson has served as President of the Coalition for the Advancement of Science and Mathematics Education in Oklahoma (CASMEO) for two years. During this time, the organization conducted yearly summits with the focus of pulling executives from education, business, and government together in a collaborative effort to understand how to complement each other in the common goal of building Oklahoma's economy through building a knowledge-based workforce. Dr. Johnson is still active in CASMEO.
In her teaching career, she was honored as the District Teacher of the Year and nominated for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching. In business, she was one of 50 nominations across the State of Oklahoma for the Woman of the Year. She currently serves on the Board and the Executive Committee for the Oklahoma Commission for Teacher Preparation and on the Board for the Oklahoma Professional Educators. Dr. Johnson is also involved in the Aerospace Summit Mentor program where she works with a teacher in the public schools to bring the aerospace concepts to the teachers and to the students. This year her teacher is in Moore Public Schools.
Dr. Johnson holds a B.A. in Elementary Education, a B.S. in Mathematics Education, and a M.Ed. in Mathematics Education. Dr. Johnson received her Ph.D. from The University of Oklahoma with emphasis in Mathematics Education.
Dr. Billy Gaston
Vice President
Dr. Gaston joined the Anautics staff in October 2005. In August 2007, Dr. Gaston accepted the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Anautics. During his tenure at Anautics, Dr. Gaston has led the research effort on our SMARTY Phase I and Phase II and has supported several other projects as well. As the CTO, Dr. Gaston is responsible for designing and recommending the appropriate technology solutions to support the policies and directives issued by the CIO. With his strong technology background, Dr. Gaston provides Anautics with an executive-level subject matter expert on the issues surrounding the technologies that the CIO will employ in order to achieve the strategic objectives of Anautics.
